Children's House

Often called primary, Children's House is Montessori for children ages 3-6.

A carefully prepared environment designed to foster independence, concentration, and a love of learning. Children engage in hands-on activities across areas such as practical life, sensorial, math, language, and cultural studies, choosing their work independently with gentle guidance from the Lead Guide.

The day typically begins with a work period, where children select works at their own pace. This is followed by outdoor play, lunch, and an afternoon work or rest period. Children bring a morning snack from home, which they may enjoy during the morning work cycle at a time of their choosing. A packed lunch from home is also provided by the family and eaten midday.

A rest or nap time is offered in the afternoon, especially for younger children who need it. Older children who no longer nap may engage in a second work cycle during this time.
